Entry for business purposes in Argentina

Transitory entry for business purposes is provided for in Art. 24, subsection "h" of Law 25,871 and regulated by DNM Disposition 1,171/2010. It is intended for foreign nationals who carry out regular commercial or economic activities on a self-employed basis or on behalf of companies, without establishing an employment relationship in Argentina. It includes business meetings, contract negotiations, trade fairs and exploration of investment opportunities.

There are two pathways to process entry for business purposes: the entry permit before the National Immigration Office (DNM) and the business visa at the Argentine consulate in the country of origin. The entry permit is requested from within Argentina by an individual or company registered with the National Single Registry of Requesters (RENURE), while the consular visa is processed directly by the foreign national at the corresponding consular representation.

Entry permit pathway (DNM)

The entry permit is requested by an individual or legal entity registered with the RENURE that invites the foreign national. The process is initiated by email to tramitacion.ingresos@migraciones.gob.ar and submitted at the DNM headquarters or the corresponding regional office. Once approved, the foreign national applies for the visa at the Argentine consulate in their jurisdiction.

Consular visa pathway

The business visa is processed directly at any Argentine consular representation, with an in-person appearance and interview. The fee is USD 200, payable in local currency at the consulate's exchange rate. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee the visa will be granted, as it remains subject to the discretion of the Argentine government.

Duration

The authorized stay is up to 60 days. It does not authorize employment in Argentina.
