Temporary residency for transit is granted to foreigners who enter the Argentine Republic with the sole purpose of traveling through its territory to another State. This category requires a specific Argentine consular visa issued for transit passengers.
It differs from passengers in continuation of journey, who do not require a visa and are allowed a maximum stay of 12 hours in the international transit zone.
The authorized period of stay is up to 10 calendar days. The National Immigration Office (DNM) may extend this period once and for an identical period when there are justified reasons.
