A tourist is considered any foreigner who enters the country for the purpose of rest or recreation. The tourist subcategory is granted with an authorized stay of up to 3 months, extendable for another similar period, or for the term indicated by the consular visa when required.
Any foreigner wishing to enter the country under the tourist subcategory must carry a valid travel document, with a consular visa if applicable. Nationals of countries with which Argentina maintains visa exemption agreements may enter with a passport only.
