Visa for Visitor (B-1, B-2)

The B-1 and B-2 visas are for temporary visitors to the U.S., granted for business or pleasure. To qualify, the applicant must prove they have a residence in a foreign country, with no intention of abandoning it, and show they plan to depart the U.S. at the end of their visit. Applicants must provide evidence of their ties to their home country, such as employment, family, or social connections. They may need to demonstrate financial support for their trip, including travel expenses and accommodations. Additionally, the visit must be for a lawful purpose, and applicants must have specific, realistic plans for their stay. If a consular officer doubts the applicant’s intent to return, a bond may be required. The length of stay should be appropriate for the stated purpose. In cases of urgent business or humanitarian needs, the process may be expedited.
