Law 25.871 allows foreigners to obtain temporary residence as retirees if they receive a regular and permanent pension from a government, international organization, or foreign company for services rendered abroad. This income must be sufficient for their support in Argentina.
The residence is granted for up to three years, renewable, with multiple entries and exits. Unlike other categories, no additional regulation is required due to the clarity of the norm. To verify the pension, a certification issued by the consulate of the country of origin suffices. For renewals, the same documentation must be provided to demonstrate continued income.
